Spirit River Petite 10Mm Estaz is a reflective long-fibre material designed to be wound around the hook shank. Its fibres create a soft, mobile profile for smaller bodies, abdomens, collars and synthetic hackle on flies and streamers. It quickly builds a full surface while allowing the fibres to move around each wrap and remain visible in the finished pattern.
Construction and use
Tie in the material at the rear of the body and bring the thread forward to the intended finishing point. Sweep the fibres back before every turn so the wraps remain even and the fibres are not trapped beneath the next one. Adjust the spacing to suit the pattern: close turns create a fuller profile, while more open turns produce a lighter and more open texture. Secure the Estaz near the eye, trim the waste, and distribute the fibres around the finished body.
