Stonfo Elite Vise
Stonfo Elite Vise is a stationary in-line 360° rotary fly-tying vise designed for tying conventional flies and streamers at a permanent bench. Its stainless-steel shaft runs through two precision ball bearings, providing smooth movement when turning the fly for inspection or using rotation to wrap materials. The shaft can be adjusted until the hook shank lies on the axis of rotation. This makes it easier to form even bodies, work on the far side of a pattern, and apply thread, tinsel, chenille or hackle without repeatedly changing hand position.
The jaws are operated by a gently acting lever mechanism, allowing hooks to be secured efficiently while keeping the clamping action controlled. The interchangeable-jaw system also permits a compatible alternative jaw to be fitted when a different tying focus requires it. Rotary resistance is adjustable, and the head can be locked at any angle. The vise can therefore move freely while a body is wrapped, then remain stationary for setting wings, tails or heads. Height adjustment helps position the hook in a comfortable working area, while the reversible arrangement allows the vise to be configured for left-handed tying.
The vise is supplied on a stable pedestal base with an integrated tool rack, giving frequently used tools a defined place without attaching the setup to the edge of a table. For initial setup, place the base on a level surface, adjust the column height, secure the hook and then alter the head position until the shank follows the rotary axis. Increase jaw pressure only until the hook remains steady under normal tying tension. The included accessories are a shaped bobbin cradle, parachute pliers, an adjustable spring material clip, a pivoting thread cradle, Allen keys and an instruction manual.
