Sybai Floating Eyes

Sybai Floating Eyes are lightweight plastic eyes with a mobile black pupil, designed to keep the fly head light while adding a distinct visual profile. They are used mainly on Booby-style flies and streamers when floating or lightly balanced head construction is required without adding substantial ballast.

Construction and use

The eyes are made from lightweight plastic, with an internal black pupil that moves as the fly is retrieved. This movement can also produce a slight rattling sound. Select the eye size to suit the hook and the intended head profile, checking the position around the hook eye and the space needed for the surrounding materials before gluing. Attach the eyes to a dry, clean surface with a suitable adhesive; once set, the joint may be optionally sealed with compatible resin or adhesive.
