Sybai Foam Cylinders Foam
Sybai Foam Cylinders Foam is plain foam cylindrical stock available in 5, 6, 7 and 8 mm diameters. It can be turned into bodies and heads of different proportions, as well as parachute posts. Choose the diameter according to hook size and the required profile. A larger cylinder provides more material for cutting and shaping, but the buoyancy of the complete fly also depends on its construction and weight.
Construction and use
Cut the cylinder to length with a sharp knife or scissors. Ends may be sanded or shaped, and a hook-shank channel or eye sockets can be prepared when required by the specific pattern. Secure the material with broad thread wraps and controlled pressure. A thread base or foam-compatible adhesive can help stabilise the component. For a parachute post, leave an upright section around which the hackle can be wound.
