Sybai Jungle Cock Substitute - Green

Sybai Jungle Cock Substitute - Green is a flexible, pre-cut synthetic cheek with a green Jungle Cock-style print. The ready-made component is tied individually to each side of a fly to create balanced streamer, wet-fly or nymph cheeks. During tying, position the ready-cut component and secure its root accurately.

Construction and use

Before tying it in, hold the cheek against the fly and check its proportions relative to the shank, head and wing case. Catch the root with two or three light thread wraps. Set the component so the printed face is visible from the side, then increase thread pressure gradually. Tie the second cheek on the opposite side as a mirror image. Trim any excess at the tie-in point if required, and protect the finished head with a thin coating suitable for the materials used. Moderate pressure keeps the flexible piece neat.
