Sybai Razor Foam

Sybai Razor Foam is a non-absorbent, very thin cuttable foam sheet for making precise small fly components. Cut it into narrow strips and small shapes for small terrestrial flies, wings, posts, backs and extended bodies.

Construction and use

Select the thickness according to the profile and amount of foam required: the Sybai Razor Foam family includes 1 mm and 2 mm versions. Cut the sheet with scissors, a sharp knife, a punch or a matching cutter. Secure it with controlled, broad thread wraps so the thread does not cut the foam; a thread base or compatible adhesive may stabilise a component when the pattern calls for it. Foam alone does not determine whether a complete fly will float, since the hook, eyes and other materials also affect buoyancy.
