Taimen DRX - breaking the stereotypes. Construction of dry fly rods requires combination of two seemingly contradictory expectations. On the one hand a delicate presentation of the fly is necessary but on the other hand the line must be very quick to allow for fishing and greater distances. To reach this goal most manufacturers design their fishing rods based on a slightly less springy graphite, getting a deeper fishing rod deflection. A greater deflection of the fishing rod translates into an improved presentation and as for the distance the manufacturers claim there is no need to fish with a dry fly at greater distances.
Our opinion is different. We consider both a delicate presentation and a wide range of distances to ensure successful fishing equally important at dry fly fishing.
Therefore the DRX series is based on high modulus graphite providing the fishing rod with exquisite elasticity, where a bit deeper deflection is obtained due to a slender blank construction. The result is amazing - DRX combines delicate presentation typical of bonded products with a dynamics typical of the fastest graphite fishing rods. In other words DRX is a fishing rod with a deflection typical of Medium Fast fishing rods and dynamics you can expect from Extra Fast rods.
