Taimen River Sink Tip III Fly Line WF-F/S3 Blue
Taimen River Sinking Tip III WF-F/S3 Blue is a WF fly line developed for flowing water and presenting a fly beneath the surface. The grey class III tip sinks, while the blue rear section remains floating. This allows the fly to travel deeper while retaining the control offered by a floating length of line. The profile is useful when the fly must reach a less accessible lie in the current and its path still requires careful adjustment.
Profile and fishing use
The tip has a nominal sink rate of 3–3.5 ips, approximately 7.6–8.9 cm per second. This figure applies to the tip itself; the fly’s position also depends on the current, presentation and terminal set-up. The floating rear section helps maintain control of the line at the surface while the tip takes the fly lower.
- Profile: WF-F/S3; floating rear section with a class III sinking tip
- Tip sink rate: 3–3.5 ips, approximately 7.6–8.9 cm per second
- Length and family range: 30 m; line weights #4–#7
- Construction: blue line with a grey tip, braided multifilament nylon core, PVC coating, low stiffness and a factory loop
The family covers line weights #4 to #7, allowing the fly line to be matched to the chosen outfit while retaining the same working profile. The total length of 30 m includes the floating rear section and the sinking section. Its low-stiffness PVC coating is carried on a braided multifilament nylon core, while the factory loop provides a ready-made point for a loop-to-loop connection.
