Textreme Antron Yarn (1180 Den.)
Textreme Antron Yarn (1180 Den.) is a brilliant yarn made from parallel, slightly wavy polyamide filaments. It is waterproof and highly buoyant, which makes it useful for forming the upper section of parachute dry flies. Its bright surface can also act as a built-in strike indicator, helping the tier follow the fly on the water. In natural colours it can be used for bodies or tails, while coloured versions are suitable for conspicuous ribbing. When tying, guide the yarn in even turns and avoid excessive pressure, which could flatten the parallel filaments and reduce the intended surface effect.
Construction and use
This is a yarn-style body material for creating visible, lightweight fly components. Its fuller structure covers the hook more broadly than a single thread, while the buoyant, water-resistant construction supports dry-fly applications.
- Construction: Parallel, slightly wavy polyamide filaments.
- Buoyancy: Waterproof construction with high buoyancy.
- Tying roles: Parachute tops, bodies, tails and ribbing.
- Handling: Wind with even tension while preserving the filament surface.
