Textreme Antron Yarn
Textreme Antron Yarn is a continuous polyamide yarn made from parallel, slightly wavy filaments. Its form can be used for slim bodies and tails, shiny ribbing, and the visible upper parts of dry-fly parachute patterns. Fluorescent versions help the angler follow a dry fly on the surface, while the more subdued colours can be used for bodies and tails.
Construction and use
The yarn may be divided into strands, laid along the hook shank, or wound as a continuous material. Before tying it in, align the end and secure it with several firm thread wraps. When forming a body, let successive turns sit close together or overlap slightly; for ribbing, keep the tension even and maintain a regular spacing. In parachute patterns, tie the material into the upper part of the post or wing and trim it to the required profile.
- Form: continuous yarn with parallel, slightly wavy filaments.
- Bodies and tails: suitable for dry flies, nymphs and smaller streamers.
- Ribbing: adds a shiny and coloured accent to a pattern.
- Visibility: fluorescent versions mark elements that need to remain visible on the water.
