Textreme Cactus Chenille
Textreme Cactus Chenille is chenille with a fibrous surface for building fly bodies efficiently. Its classic construction produces an even, full-bodied profile in streamers, wet flies, nymphs and other freshwater patterns.
Construction and use
Choose the size according to the required profile: finer versions suit smaller flies, while larger versions create broader bodies. To tie it in, expose a short section of the core, secure it to the hook shank, and wrap the chenille in close turns. Sweep the fibres rearward before each turn to reduce trapping beneath the material. After winding, the surface can be trimmed to match the silhouette of the particular pattern.
- Form: core-based chenille for winding.
- Selection: match the version to the fly’s size and desired body width.
- Handling: close wraps with a fibrous surface that can be shaped.
- Uses: streamers, nymphs, wet flies and freshwater patterns.
