Textreme Fish Skin
Textreme Fish Skin is a braided body material made with two alternating colours to create a distinct striped effect. It can be wrapped as a continuous streamer or fly body, and its particular construction also allows use when tying tube flies.
Construction and use
Tie the material in at the start of the intended body and wrap it in even, adjacent turns, maintaining consistent tension so the stripes remain regular. On a hook, secure the starting section with firm thread wraps and trim the excess after finishing the body. For tube flies, adapt the path and tension to the diameter and length of the tube being used. Fish Skin is suited to bodies, segments and streamer surfaces where a rhythmic pattern of two interchanging colours is required.
- Form: continuous braided material for wrapping bodies.
- Effect: alternating two-colour striped appearance.
- Profile: regular surface for bodies or segmented sections.
- Uses: streamers, tube flies and other patterns with a defined body.
