Textreme Metal Brill
Textreme Metal Brill is chenille with a braided core, sparse rayon-viscose fibres and transparent fibres that create a restrained shiny surface. It builds compact bodies on small flies and streamers when a light effect is wanted without a heavy, dense fibre layer. The core keeps the fibres organised while the material is being handled and wrapped.
Construction and use
Expose a short section of the core before tying in, giving the material a secure hold on the hook shank. Wrap the chenille in adjacent turns, sweeping the fibres back before each turn. This keeps the body even and reduces the chance of trapping fibres beneath the next wrap. Metal Brill can be used on its own or combined with other body materials when constructing the thorax or abdomen of a pattern.
