Textreme Stretch Floss Round

Textreme Stretch Floss Round is a continuous, round elastic fibre for legs, antennae, tails, ribbing and segmented bodies. Under tension, the material can reduce its diameter by approximately four times, to about one quarter of its resting size. Its round cross-section allows it to be tied in as a single appendage or wound around the hook shank.

Construction and use

Set the working diameter by stretching a section in a controlled manner before tying it in. Leave more bulk for legs and antennae, while greater tension produces finer ribbing or small body segments. Secure the fibre with several broad thread wraps, then make even turns without suddenly releasing the tension. Once the element is formed, bind down the end to retain the chosen degree of stretch.

• Form: continuous round fibre with high elasticity.
• Adjustment: tension can reduce the diameter to about one quarter.
• Uses: legs, antennae, ribbing and segmented bodies.
• Family colours: examples include white and olive; select the variant for the fly design.
