Textreme Super Long Hair
Textreme Super Long Hair consists of very long, lightweight synthetic fibres for building full streamer wings, tails and baitfish profiles. Its fine texture and generous volume let the material settle softly in water, with movement similar to marabou. Use it as a single bundle or divide it into small, firmly secured portions, then layer, taper or trim the fibres to shape the fly. The material is supplied on a 3-metre cardboard spool.
Construction and use
Before tying, separate the amount required and even the tips. Smaller bundles preserve movement and make the fly easier to control; an overly dense bunch can restrict the fibres. The long strands can create either a slim or broad profile, depending on how they are distributed along the hook shank and how their ends are trimmed.
- Streamer wings – layer the fibres to build a full profile while keeping the wing mobile.
- Tails and backs – cut the material to length and secure it with several tight thread wraps.
- Profile shaping – taper the ends with scissors, moving from a slimmer tail toward a fuller head.
- Movement in water – the lightweight, voluminous bundle settles softly while the fly is retrieved or paused.
