Uni Soft Wire LG 0.35 mm

Uni Soft Wire LG 0.35 mm is very soft, round fly-tying wire in the largest Soft Wire size. It wraps easily and settles closely against the hook shank or the material forming the body. Use it for traditional ribbing, complete wire bodies, underbodies, direct dubbing on wire or the preparation of a dubbing brush. It is suitable for patterns such as chironomid imitations and Mosquito-style flies. Each spool contains 10 grams of material, regardless of wire size.

Construction and use

Soft Wire is intended for applications where easy shaping and close contact are more important than maximum stiffness. The manufacturer describes it as non-tarnishing and easier to wrap than UNI-French wire. When forming an even rib, keep the tension consistent and seat each turn against the previous one. For direct dubbing, distribute the material along the wire before wrapping so the resulting body remains even. Finish by securing the wire firmly before cutting it.
