Wapsi Arctic Goat Hair

Wapsi Arctic Goat is long, fine, soft goat hair supplied loose or on a patch for tying slender wings, tails and other mobile fly components.

Construction and use

Sort the hair by length and required volume, then clear loose fibres from the tie-in area. Secure the bundle with a few thread wraps and increase tension gradually so the soft hair is not crushed. It can be layered into a wing or tail; the fibres move freely in water, so a controlled amount and a tidy tie-in help retain the intended profile.
