Wapsi Buggy Nymph Yarn
Wapsi Buggy Nymph Yarn is a fine-diameter continuous fly-tying yarn with a changing two-colour pattern. It is intended mainly for building larger nymph bodies and streamer bodies, providing a soft, windable material that creates a distinct profile without requiring several separate body materials.
Construction and use
Cut the required length and secure the end to the hook shank before wrapping. The yarn can be wound in adjoining turns or applied in selected sections, depending on the body shape required. Keep the tension even as you wrap so the body remains smooth without compressing the yarn excessively. Its changing pattern along the length introduces a broken colour effect as the body is formed, rather than producing a single uniform block of colour. When the body is complete, tie off the yarn securely and trim the waste. Select the wrapping density to match the hook size and the intended profile of the fly.
- Form: continuous yarn designed to be wound on the hook shank.
- Pattern: changing two-colour, variegated appearance along the yarn.
- Uses: larger nymph bodies, streamers and other flies needing a fuller body profile.
- Application: wrap with even tension or place in sections to vary the body shape.
