Wapsi Calf Hair
Wapsi Calf Hair is a hair patch containing fine, straight calf body hair. It is used mainly for dry-fly wings and tails, including hairwing patterns such as H&L, Wulff, Trude and Adams.
Construction and use
Select fibres of similar length, remove the underfur and short tips, then level the bundle in a hair stacker. After securing it, the hair can be divided into wings or trimmed to the required length. The fine, straight fibres produce neat, compact components without adding excessive bulk to a fly.
