Wapsi CDC. Cul-De-Canard
Wapsi CDC. Cul-De-Canard consists of CDC feathers from the preen-gland area of a duck, intended for dry flies and emerger patterns. Their delicate fibres create a light, airy surface that traps air and gives a fly useful volume and movement. The package contains approximately 100 feathers. A complete CDC feather offers several tying options: use a section for a wing, wrap the feather as a collar, or separate individual fibres according to the pattern.
Construction and use
CDC suits emerger and dry-fly wings, collars, legs, and loops made in split thread. Mount the feather by its tip and wrap it, select the section needed for a wing, or divide the fibres into smaller portions. These methods make it easy to control the profile and match the fly size. The useful length and density of the feather section guide material selection for each pattern.
