Wapsi Egg Yarn
Wapsi Egg Yarn is a soft, fluffy, colourfast yarn made for bodies on egg flies. Its continuous form allows the tier to cut a suitable section, secure it to the hook shank and create a compact, rounded shape by trimming the fibres. The manufacturer states approximately 15 feet of material per package.
Construction and use
Cut a section suited to the size of the fly, secure it with several thread wraps and then brush and trim the fibres to the desired outline. The ends can also be gathered and tied to produce a more compact body. This soft yarn is primarily intended for egg-fly patterns, but it can also form small rounded body details. When choosing the amount, allow room for the thread wraps and the finished head.
