Wapsi Flexi-Cord
Wapsi Flexi-Cord is light, flexible hollow tubing made from braided nylon. It is intended especially for saltwater fly bodies, where it covers a prepared underbody with a flexible, lightly reflective surface. The open braided construction adapts to the body form as the material is positioned and secured at the vise.
Construction and use
Select 1/8, 1/4 or 3/8 inch according to the diameter of the prepared underbody and the profile you want to create. Slide the tubing over a smooth underbody, leaving enough material beyond both tie-in points. Stretching narrows and lengthens the braid, while compression widens it. The underbody supplies the finished body shape, and controlled tension sets the fit around it. Tie the material down at both ends and secure the cut edges against fraying for a neat, durable result.
