Wapsi Life Cycle - Caddis
Wapsi Life Cycle – Caddis is a blend of natural fur and Super Bright synthetic material in a specially selected shade. The fur gives the dubbing a soft, organic texture, while the synthetic element introduces a controlled touch of sparkle. This combination is intended for imitating common caddis found in streams and is useful when a fly needs more character than a completely smooth body can provide.
Construction and use
Choose this version for caddis larvae, pupae and related river patterns. It forms a natural-looking body on the thread and can be left fairly neat or opened slightly to suggest a more textured insect profile. Apply it in thin portions, increasing the amount only where the pattern calls for a fuller thorax or body, and keep the taper matched to the hook size.
- Fibre blend: natural fur combined with Super Bright synthetic material.
- Series distinction: a dedicated shade for patterns representing caddis and their life stages.
- Applications: caddis larvae, pupae and other common stream-insect imitations.
- Working tip: loosen the finished surface lightly with a needle or dubbing brush to reveal fibres without making the body excessively shaggy.
