Wapsi Mylar Cord Medium

Wapsi Mylar Cord Medium is hollow, braided reflective Mylar tubing for shaping fly bodies. The braid has a metallic sheen suited to baitfish imitations, streamers and other patterns with bright bodies. The Medium size builds a profile chosen to match the underbody diameter and intended fly silhouette.

Construction and use

Prepare a smooth underbody with a diameter suited to the intended body, then slide the Mylar Cord over it. Leave sufficient material beyond both tie-in points to secure the tubing and protect its ends. Stretching narrows and lengthens the braid, while compression widens it; the underbody determines the finished shape. Tie in the tubing at both ends, trim the excess and bind the cut edges with tying thread.
