Wapsi Ostrich Marabou
Wapsi Ostrich Marabou is soft ostrich feather material with a marabou-like profile and flexible feather stems. Its long fibres add movement and fullness to flies, while the complete feather can be wrapped around the hook shank. The material is suited to salmon and steelhead flies, streamers and nymphs.
Construction and use
Tie a feather in as a tail or collar, or wrap it as a palmered body. It also works in Woolly Bugger and streamer tails, while individual fibres create delicate tails for damselfly nymphs and gills on other nymph patterns. A complete feather builds greater volume during wrapping; selected fibres produce slimmer, more controlled elements. Each package contains 12 feathers.
