Wapsi Palmer Chenille Small
Wapsi Palmer Chenille Small is a one-sided chenille with longer fibres, designed to be wound on a hook shank. It creates a mobile, soft-looking body and can also form collars and synthetic hackle on streamers. Its pearlescent appearance adds reflection to the fibres while preserving the material’s primary structural role.
Construction and use
Before tying in, expose a short section of the core so the material can be secured firmly. Wind it in adjacent turns, sweeping the longer fibres back before each turn. Keep the spacing controlled when building a body; for a collar, the fibres may be allowed to remain more open and mobile. The Small version suits slimmer streamer patterns and shorter body sections where a restrained profile is useful.
