Wapsi Pearl Chenille X-Small
Wapsi Pearl Chenille X-Small is a dense chenille with a pearl finish for building fly bodies. Pearl mylar fibres create an iridescent, reflective appearance as a nymph or streamer moves. The material produces an even, defined body without requiring a separate tinsel strip or dubbing layer.
Construction and use
Expose a short section of the core when tying it in, secure that core to the hook shank, and trim the waste. Wrap the chenille in adjacent turns from the tie-in point toward the front. Sweep the fibres back before each turn when needed so they are not trapped beneath the thread or the next wrap. Its smaller profile suits slim nymph bodies, smaller streamers and segmented thoraxes where a pearl change in reflection is useful. Keep the tension even to maintain a consistent outline.
