Wapsi Pine Squirrel Zonkered Skin

Wapsi Pine Squirrel Zonkered Skin is a complete pine-squirrel skin, factory pre-cut into longitudinal fur strips. Sections of different lengths and widths can be separated from the same skin while retaining the soft fur and natural barring.

Construction and use

Before cutting a strip free, part the fur to expose the skin and guide the scissors along its surface. For a small fly, taper the front of the strip and match its length to the shank. Lay the strip lengthwise along the shank as a tail, wing or back, securing the skin at one or more points.

• Form: complete skin, factory pre-cut into strips.
• Material: soft pine-squirrel fur with natural barring.
• Cut: longitudinal, following the direction of the fur.
• Preparation: expose the skin at the tie-in point.
• Uses: tails, wings and backs on small streamers.
