Wapsi Ringneck Pheasant Hackle
Wapsi Pheasant Ringneck Hackle consists of ringneck pheasant hackle feathers for soft collars, especially on Spey flies. The delicate, flexible barbs arrange naturally around the hook shank and create a mobile collar. The material also suits patterns that call for lightweight, naturally moving pheasant feather fibres. Each package contains approximately 1/8 oz. of material.
Construction and use
The feathers have soft barbs growing from a flexible feather stem. This construction is well suited to Spey collars and other mobile fly components. Clear the stem, then tie in or wrap the feather according to the pattern. Match the usable feather length and width to the collar size and fly silhouette to control density and proportions. The material gives Spey-style patterns a soft, mobile profile with the characteristic appearance of pheasant feather.
