Whiting Hebert Dry Fly Saddles
Hebert Miner Hackle, exclusively from Whiting Farms, represents the pinnacle of dry fly hackle quality; a premium offering for the discerning fly tier and angler. This hackle's journey began in 1954 when Castkill fly-tying legend Harry Darbee generously shared his prized Darbee hackle stock eggs with Andy Miner. This act set the stage for a revolution in genetic dry fly hackle. Andy Miner, a lawyer by trade and a meticulous individual, embarked on a quest of careful study and breeding, resulting in a significantly improved hackle rooster. In 1974, Ted Hebert of Laingsburg, Michigan, acquired the finest of the Miner Hackle Stock. Over the next two decades, following Miner's methods, Hebert enhanced the stock further, aiming for superior hackle quality and exquisite colors. The stewardship of this exceptional genetic lineage passed to Tom Whiting, Ph.D., President of Whiting Farms, in 1997, ensuring the legacy and excellence of Hebert Miner Hackle continues.
